From a young boy who was never supposed to be able to speak - to a man with a golden voice, ANTHONY FEDOROV has truly beaten all the odds. Due to a birth defect in his windpipe, Fedorov was given a tracheotomy as a toddler. Despite skepticism that he would ever be able to talk again, he persevered and started singing at an early age. In 2005, he began his rise to fame when he appeared on season four of the hugely successful FOX singing competition “American Idol” where he ultimately placed in the Top 4.
Fedorov continues to exercise his passion for creating and performing great music. He recently signed an exclusive recording and publishing agreement with Anders Music Inc., a multi media company owned by music composer and producer Adam Anders. Anthony will begin recording his debut album in February of 2008 with producer Adam Anders whose credits include Paradiso Girls, Backstreet Boys, Jesse McCartney, Nick Lachey, Ashley Tisdale, the new Disney films High School Musical 3, Cheetah Girls and Princess as well as the new FOX television show "Back to You" (starring Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton).
“Deep Within My Heart,” one of Fedorov’s newly recorded songs and original compositions, has been chosen for inclusion on a promotional CD to be distributed by Dreyers / Edy's Grand Ice Cream. The CD will be available February through May of 2008 in 6,000 national and regional grocery chains and features new music by 7 other “American Idol” finalists.
In addition to performing, Fedorov spends a great deal of time and energy on causes that are important to him. After losing his brother Denis to cancer last year at the early age of 28, Fedorov, decided to become an advocate to promote general awareness of the disease and to help drive fundraising efforts to find a cure. He immediately sought out the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) and was officially named the organization’s 2007 celebrity spokesperson. In 2008, Fedorov once again proved his dedication to the organization by joining the Board of Directors thus allowing him to continue on with his good work. Due to his tireless advocacy and fundraising efforts, a new Sarcoma research grant will be awarded yearly in honor of his beloved brother, Denis.
During his time on “American Idol,” he quickly became known for his stunning renditions of popular ballads and grew a large fan base among the 130 million viewers and voters that tuned in week after week and ultimately voted him to the Top 10. He finished the competition in the Top 4 alongside Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice and Vonzell Solomon. He was a stand-out performer during the 2005 American Idol Summer Tour and played to over a half-million fans in 44 cities. His natural command of the stage eventually lead him to a leading role Off-Broadway. He earned raves and much attention when he made his theatrical debut in New York City Tuesday, May 1, 2007 assuming the lead role of “Matt” in the hit Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, the world’s longest running musical. A beloved musical love story, The Fantasticks tells the story of a young boy (Fedorov) and girl who fall madly in love at the hands of their meddling fathers. Fedorov starred alongside the show’s co-creator, Tom Jones.
Fedorov has appeared on many of the most popular television talk shows including the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” “Live with Regis and Kelly,” “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet” and a host of Fox Network Shows. In June 2006, Anthony was featured in the celebrity version of the popular Fox competition series “Fear Factor.”
Born in the Ukraine in 1985, Anthony moved to the United States with his family by the age of 9. By the age of 10 he was able to speak English fluently and was singing with the promise of the powerful voice to come in the clubs and restaurants around his hometown of Philadelphia and in New York. He has an uncanny knack for languages and is able to speak and sing in Russian, Spanish and Italian.
