FROM THE FANS - FOR THE FANS!

Part One

Do you have any tattoos?
*Tammy*

I have one tattoo on my left arm.  When I was out in L.A. for the Grand Finale of American Idol (you know Chris Daughtry got the big one put across his back) Chris said, “Bucky, man…we gotta get you a tattoo!”  (Laughing)  I’ve never wanted one and I never thought I was gonna do it, either!  I didn’t want to just do it to do it…you know…and I told him I had to think of one.  And the next day Chris said, “Did you think of one yet?  Think of one!”  So the next day, I thought of one and gave Chris my idea.  Chris is a great artist and he drew it out for me.  And then…we tattooed it on! It’s a music note with a cowboy spur on it.   Ohhhhh - It hurt like hell!!!  (Laughing)

What size cowboy boot do you wear?
*Diver*

I wear a 10½!

What brand of boot do you wear?
*Diver*

I’m not real picky on the brand.  There’s one store that I usually end up always going to because I like my cowboy boots a little different - I don’t like a standard one.  I like one with a little edge to it - with a little mess up on it.  I like my boots with some cuts on it -  something different.  So I always end up going to this place in L.A. - a place called Boot Star.

Boot Star??
*Mrs. Jones*

Yep, Boot Star!  Every boot in there cuts up like a flat tire!!!!!!  (Laughing)

Fans, here it is - This is where they cut up like a flat tiiiire - www.boot-star.com

Yeeeeeee-haaaaaaaa!
*Mrs. Jones*

Did Bucky receive Cheryl and Company cookies on his birthday from West Virginia?
*Sloane*

Yes!!!  Oh my goodness…I did!!  They were awesome!  Thank you so very much, Sloane!

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
*Melanie*

I’m gonna say singing was always in the back of my mind, but it was tough for any kid who wanted to be an actor or actress or anything like that.  You couldn’t just go up to your parents and say, “I want to be a professional singer.” That’s kinda like going up to them and saying, “I want to be a fire truck.”  Your odds are about the same!  (Laughing)  My dad owned a body shop and I think I was in the sixth grade before I started thinking about what I was gonna do for the rest of my life.  My dad owned the shop, so as far as I knew, I was gonna be working in the body shop.  BUT… then I heard Jeff Healey’s album and things changed.

When was that…how old were you?
*Mrs. Jones*

I was 19, maybe 20.  Hearing his album is the one that lit the spark in me.

And that changed everything for you?
*Mrs. Jones*

Absolutely!  I went and bought a guitar the next day and here we are!!! (Laughing)

Who’s your favorite superhero?
*Melanie*

My favorite superhero…Wow…I’m going have to go with Superman!!  I wasn’t into comics that much.  But I always liked Superman movies, so I’ll have to say Superman!  And…he can fly!  I always thought it would be really cool to fly!!  If they ever come out with something that I can afford and I could fly…I’m gonna fly!  (Laughing)  Man, I would love to do that.  That’s a big dream, but I say, “If you’re gonna dream, dream big!”

I read a quote of yours:  “God has this hand on my shoulder.”  Explain what you mean by that?
*Diver*

I think Diver’s talking about the tryouts for American Idol.  The tryouts were in Memphis but it was too far away for me.  It was twelve hours away and I would’ve had to take too much time off from work and everything so I wasn’t going to go.  And then they ended up moving the auditions to Greensboro, North Carolina which is only an hour down the road from me.  And if that isn’t God’s hand on your shoulder telling you to go, I don’t know what is!  That’s what I meant by it.  Somebody’s looking out for me.

What’s your favorite movie?
*Eryn*

Tombstone!  And Val Kilmer is somebody I would love to meet.   I think he played Doc Holliday to a tee!!  Also, I love The Doors movie where Val Kilmer plays Jim Morrison.  He was a better Jim Morrison than Jim Morrison!  But Tombstone’s got to be my all time favorite movie.  At one time I could actually quote the movie from beginning to end.  I’ve seen it that many times!

Where would your ideal vacation be?
*Tara*

My ideal vacation?  Goodness!  My ideal vacation…Oh!  Something I’ve always wanted to do…Go with my buddies on a 30-foot Cutty cabin boat and just go down the Intercostal Waterway all the way down to the Florida Keys.

Wow, very nice!
*Mrs. Jones*

Yeah, that would be great!

If you could record a duet with anyone in the music industry, who would you choose?
*Melanie*

Anyone in the music industry?  Wow, that’s way too big!

Oh, my goodness…let me think…that’s tough!  Okay…Chad Kroeger from Nickelback would be cool.  And………goodness!  Oh!  And Kellie Pickler!!

KELLIE PICKLER!!?!?
*Mrs. Jones*

Yeah!  (Laughing)  I like her just because she’s so much fun.  If I get to play with her on stage, that would be a good thing.

WOW Really, Bucky!?!?
*Mrs. Jones*

Oh yeah, I love ‘ol Kellie to death!!

What is the best thing and the worst thing so far about your life in the limelight?
*Melanie*

The best is…I get to fulfill a dream – that’s the absolute best.

And the worst…the worst is when something bad happens…it’s kinda like everybody’s news.  If you have a big problem when you’re living in a small town, you can cover it up a little bit.  The whole world doesn’t have to know about it.  I was kinda big on that, too.  I didn’t let a lot of people into my personal life - but now…NOW everybody knows you and knows what you’re doing!!  Whatever you say and do…it gets out!  I’m not gonna say it’s the worst thing, but it’s the toughest thing to deal with.

Yeah…so you better do the right thing, Bucky! (Laughing)
*Mrs. Jones*

That’s right!!  That’s what we’ve been trying to up to now anyway!  (Laughing)

What was your favorite subject in school?
*Melanie*

LUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!

LUNCH!?!?!? (Laughing)
*Mrs. Jones*

Oh yeah…Lunch!  (Laughing)  I was terrible in high school.  I always knew what I was going do when I was in high school so I quit doing homework and did what I had to do to graduate because I was going to my dad’s body shop and even a high school diploma wasn’t going to help me out there!   I didn’t take school real serious.

At what age did you sing in public for the first time?
*Greta*

It had to be 21.  I had a late start.

And do you know where you were?
*Mrs. Jones*

Oh, my goodness!  For the first one…that’s hard.

Think Bucky!  Your fans want to know!
*Mrs. Jones*

Oh I know!!  I was playing for a frat party.  My guitar player was in a TKE, so we played for a TKE frat party.  It was my first time out.  We played a lot of songs that we wrote.  And they started playing a song that I asked them not to play cause I didn’t know the words yet - it had a lot of words in it.  But they played it anyway!  So, I hummed the whole song!

You hummed the whole song?
*Mrs. Jones*

The whole song!  (Laughing)  Welcome to the first time!

Bucky has a great original song before Idol called, “I Found the One.”  I love that song and I’m wondering if I ever have hope of it being on a CD in the future.
*Kathy*

You know, I have no idea.  I know the song Kathy’s talking about.  I did write that with a buddy of mine.  Maybe if I can touch it up, possibly!  I’m the world’s worst critic of myself.  If I write it or sing it…I’m going to critique it to death.  So, I’m not sure.  If I can get that song to where I really love it - then sure…definitely.  But I have to make sure these first songs sell first!  (Laughing)

I love your closeness with Rocky.  I hope he gets some stage time too since he is an amazing performer on his own right.
*Debbie*

Well he’s going be playing drums with us when we go out on tour and maybe he’ll pop up and do a song or two while we’re playing, who knows!  And if he does, I might go back on the drums and play a couple of songs for him.

Are there any actors or actresses that you admire?
*Eryn*

I actually admire a lot of actors and actresses.  It’s kind of like the thing where you meet musicians…they kind of do what you do, so it’s like “hey…nice to meet you.”  But when you meet actors and actresses, they have a talent that you don’t know and you don’t have, so there’s a higher respect for them.  It’s neat and you just wonder how they do what they do.  I remember when Chris Daughtry and I were in L.A. for the Finale….We went over to Billy Bob Thornton’s house.  We we’re hanging out with Billy Bob Thornton and everything…drinking warm Coronas - no limes…(laughing)…and we’re hanging out and just talking about music and movies and stuff like that.  And Billy Bob says something about Sling Blade.  I said “You were in Sling Blade?”  He says “Uh, yeah.”  I said, “I love that movie, man!” And then I said, “Who you were in Sling Blade?”  He said “Karl - the main character!”  Man, I never felt so small in my life!!!  I said, “I mean no disrespect!” I said, “Actually, that’s a big compliment!  I didn’t even know that was you!  You did a really great job at acting!!”  Man, I got called out on that one!!  (Laughing)  He’s an awesome guy, though…an awesome guy.

How about an actress?
*Mrs. Jones*

I’m trying to think of an actress that I’ve met….Hmmm…I don’t think I’ve met that many.

Is there anyone that you admire or that you would like to meet?
*Mrs. Jones*

You know I’ve always been a really big Pamela Anderson fan!!!

DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN…WHAT DID YOU SAY, BUCKY!?!? (Laughing)
*Mrs. Jones*

(Laughing)  Oh yeah!  I think she is just gorgeous!

Bucky!!!!
*Mrs. Jones*

I know, I know!!!!!!!
(Laughing)

I’m not touching that one with a ten foot pole, Buckeroo!
*Mrs. Jones*

I think she’s just beautiful!

Let’s move onto food! (Laughing)
*Mrs. Jones*

What’s your favorite home cooked meal?
*Martha*

Wow…my favorite home cooked meal?  You know I really love chicken and dumplings.  They are always good to get!!  Man, you just can’t beat some dumplings! (Laughing)

Who cooks in your house?
*Mrs. Jones*

My brother’s wife.  She’s a great cook and so she does all the cooking.

How does it make you feel having people you don’t know telling you that they love you and your music?
*Eryn*

I love it, Eryn!!  One thing being a singer…a singer likes for everybody to love them.  They always want to be center of attention and everything.  And to have complete strangers come up to you – it’s incredible.  I’ve heard some great stories…like about a little girl that’s in the hospital that hasn’t been up for days and then a singer goes in and starts singing and playing and then she starts to move her head and stuff…That’s amazing to me!  I’ve heard some of the most incredible stories like that.  It makes me remember how music made me feel before all this got started.  And to be able to do that for somebody else…that’s AMAZING!  Nothing short of amazing!

When you worked at your father’s shop, were you a mechanic, too?
*Sam*

I didn’t do any mechanical work with motors, but I would cut a car in half, put it back together, weld it, and then paint it.  Anything past the fan, I didn’t touch.  Hats off to the mechanics that do that cause that aggravates the crap out of me! (Laughing)

Bucky always shows a humorous laid back kind of attitude.  I would like to know what ruffles his feathers.  What are some of his pet peeves?
*Penny*

Actually, probably one of the biggest pet peeves I have is when you open a door for somebody and they don’t say nothin’!  When you open a door and they just walk right on by, there’s no thank you, no nothin’!  It’s like “Excuse me, I’m sorry, I forgot to get the red carpet for you!!”  That really bugs me!

You know what I mean?

To do something nice for someone and then get no thank you…Especially when they look at you and they still don’t acknowledge you.  That’s one of my biggest pet peeves!

I hear what you’re saying, Bucky!
*Mrs. Jones*

All it takes is a little bit of niceness.  Here…this is funny…I went to Walgreen’s a while ago to go get a passport picture.  It was me, my brother, and my manager, Ron.  And the lady was taking our picture and everything and she heard my manager say my name.  And she said, “Wait - What’s your name!?”  And then she recognized who I was.  I said, “How are you doing?  It’s very nice to meet you.”  Then she calls over to the manager lady.  She yelled, “Hey!  You remember that show American Idol?”  And the manager yelled back, “Yes!”  And then the lady next to me yelled, “You know that’s Bucky’s right here!”  And the manager lady yelled, “Yeah…I saw him, but I like Chris Daughtry better!”  (Laughing)  The nerve of some people!  But hey everybody’s entitled to an opinion and to be quite honest, I’m a Chris Daughtry fan.  So, I’m not gonna argue with that!!

That’s just unbelievable, Bucky!
*Mrs. Jones*

Yes it was!! (Laughing)

You know Bucky, you’re so quick on your feet.  I can’t even image somebody slicing you down because I have a feeling you would have a comeback for everything!  (Laughing)
*Mrs. Jones*

I kinda do, Mrs. Jones!!  I’m a big fan of stand-up comedians and comedy movies and I just love anything that’s funny.

If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
*John*

Elvis!!  The biggest mistake for me is people tried to turn me onto Elvis and I never even gave it a chance.  But when I heard “Suspicious Minds,” I fell in love with it and loved everything Elvis did.  And to be able to go and succeed in country music and rock music…that’s amazing.  Elvis had an extraordinary life and, you know, I think it would be just amazing to meet him.  But that’s not going to happen because I’m not one of those that “believe.”  (Laughing)  I don’t think he’s hanging out with Tupac!  (Laughing)

What’s your favorite beer?
*Martha*

My favorite beer…to date…is Corona!  When I was younger, I drank Coor’s Lite and  only Coor’s Lite.  And then I got tired of Coor’s Lite and would drink Bud Lite and only Bud Lite and now I drink Corona and only Corona!!
